Common questions

Choosing what's right for you.

Do I need to choose guided or self-guided before booking?

Most trip itineraries list whether sections are guided or self-guided. If you're unsure which suits you, the team can talk you through the options for your chosen trip.

Is accommodation and transport included either way?

Yes. All lodge-based overnight trips include ensuite accommodation, meals and luggage transfers, whether you choose to walk guided or self-guided.

Can I switch between guided and self-guided during my trip?

Many itineraries allow flexibility day to day depending on conditions and how you're feeling. Speak with your guide or our team on arrival to discuss your options.

What do guides actually add to the experience?

Beyond local knowledge of history and wildlife, our guides add thoughtful touches along the way, from freshly brewed coffee to pointing out hidden highlights of the coastline you might otherwise miss.

Also kayaking?

Sea kayaking works the same way.

If your trip includes sea kayaking, the same guided or self-guided choice applies on the water. Find out more about what to expect.
