Arrival & departure options

Your journey begins with a complimentary coach transfer, with standard departures from Nelson beginning at 8am or 10.15am, and returning to Nelson by approximately 5.30–6pm. Earlier or later departures may be available depending on the season or your travel plans.

Flexible by nature

All walking is optional, with boat transfers available throughout your journey. Whether you're travelling as a couple, with friends or as a family spanning different ages and abilities, everyone can enjoy the experience at a pace that suits them.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Arrive & travel to Awaroa

Meet your complimentary coach transfer in Nelson and travel into Abel Tasman National Park by boat, arriving at Meadowbank Homestead — a heritage-inspired homestead beside Awaroa Inlet — in time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2

Walk to Torrent Bay

Walk one of the most spectacular sections of the Abel Tasman Coast Track. Along the way, your guide will bring the landscape to life with local stories, wildlife encounters and hidden highlights. Pass golden beaches, the Bark Bay Waterfall Trail, spectacular swing bridges and breathtaking coastal viewpoints before arriving at Torrent Bay Lodge for the night.

This day is split into three scenic sections of around two hours each, with opportunities to rest, swim and enjoy lunch along the way. Boat transfers are also available between sections if you'd prefer a shorter walk.

Day 3

Return to Nelson

Your final morning is yours to enjoy — relax at the lodge, take a short walk nearby, or simply soak up the coastal views — before your boat and coach transfer returns you to Nelson.
